BISYS client, New Orleans area Jefferson Parrish school district, was able to hire safety coordinators as a result of the recommendations of BRMS:
" With more than 150 school bus accidents recorded in less than three years, Jefferson Parish public school officials plan to hire two safety coordinators to help curtail wrecks and protect passengers.
The coordinators, one for each side of the Mississippi River, will be paid $32,500 a year and given such duties as conducting random safety inspections of buses, enforcing rules, coordinating mandatory drug testing of drivers and ensuring that all accidents are thoroughly investigated.
The School Board agreed to the hires last week in response to a loss control survey by BISYS Risk Management Services of Melbourne, Fla., on Oct. 6."
